International Admissions Process
International Application Process
Applying to AIMS as an international student involves several admissions and enrollment steps.
Applicants should begin by reviewing the admission requirements for their selected program. Request credential evaluations and official English proficiency scores early, because AIMS must receive these documents directly from the issuing organizations.
Before You Apply
Before submitting the application, confirm that you:
- Meet the minimum international admission requirements
- Meet the requirements for your selected program
- Have completed at least one year of college-level coursework, equal to 30 or more credits
- Can obtain the required credential evaluations
- Can provide acceptable proof of English language proficiency
- Can demonstrate sufficient financial resources
- Understand that students in F-1 status cannot receive transfer credit at AIMS
Before applying, we strongly recommend attending an information session for your program.
Program availability and start dates may vary. Contact AIMS before applying to confirm that international applications are being accepted for your selected program.
Application Steps
Step 1: Submit the International Application
Complete the online application for international admission. Provide complete and accurate information. The name and biographical information on your application should match the information shown on your passport.
After submitting the application, you will receive access to the applicant portal.
Step 2: Submit the Required Admissions Documents
Upload all required admissions documents to the applicant portal.
Applicants must have their TOEFL/IELTS score reports and credential evaluations sent directly to the college. For details about the document requirements, please refer to the Required Admissions Documents.
Preliminary Screening: For the Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and MRI Technology programs, the Admissions team conducts a preliminary screening of each applicant’s submitted application and required documents to determine whether the applicant may advance in the admissions process. Applicants selected to continue will be invited to take the entrance examination.
Step 3: Complete the Entrance Examination
After submitting a complete application and all required admissions documents, applicants selected to advance through any applicable preliminary screening must complete the required ACCUPLACER tests in Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic, unless they qualify for an approved waiver.
A proctoring fee applies to online testing. The current fee will be displayed when the examination is scheduled.
Step 4: Complete Pre-Screening Interview
Applicants who pass the entrance examination will be invited to a pre-screening interview with a member of the Admissions team. This procedural interview confirms that the applicant’s admissions requirements and documentation are in order and gathers any additional information needed before the formal application interview.
Step 5: Complete Application Interview
After completing the pre-screening interview, applicants will advance to the formal application interview. The interview is used to evaluate the applicant’s readiness for the selected program and is considered as part of the admissions committee’s decision-making process.
Step 6: Admissions Decision
Once all steps are complete, your application will be reviewed by the admissions committee. Only complete applications submitted before the deadline will be considered.
Applicants will receive an official decision of acceptance, denial, or waitlist status. Waitlisted applicants may remain on the waitlist to determine whether a space becomes available or may apply for a future program start date.
Application Deadlines for Selective Programs
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is strongly encouraged. Exceptional applicants may receive early acceptance. All other decisions will be made after the published application deadline. If a program reaches capacity before the deadline, applications may close early.
Enrollment Process
Step 1: Schedule Enrollment Appointment
Accepted applicants must confirm their enrollment and schedule a virtual enrollment appointment within two weeks of receiving their acceptance notification.
Step 2: Complete Enrollment
To finalize enrollment and secure a place in the program, applicants must pay a $200 nonrefundable administrative fee, sign the enrollment contract, and complete all required enrollment documents. The enrollment appointment must be completed within four weeks of the acceptance notification.
After Enrollment
After being accepted into a program and completing the enrollment process, international students must submit a Form I-20 request to International Student Services. A designated school official will review the student’s enrollment and financial documentation before initiating the Form I-20.
View Form I-20 and F-1 Information
Students must also upload the required health documents to the Magnus Health portal according to the deadlines provided in the student health packet. The physical examination form must be submitted by the first day of class. Additional requirements include TB screening and proof of required immunizations.
