Casey Wasserman
Background and Experience at AIMS
Casey began her healthcare journey with an interest in nursing, but soon realized it wasn’t the right direction for her. Still, her dedication to working in the medical field and connecting with patients on a personal level remained constant. That drive ultimately led her to diagnostic medical sonography, where she discovered the perfect balance between compassionate care and hands-on technical skill.
When Casey enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at AIMS Education, she was determined to succeed, even if it meant starting fresh. Her time at AIMS quickly exceeded her expectations. “My instructors were always willing to help, whether it was explaining something multiple times or sharing real-world scanning tips,” she says. The collaborative environment with her classmates helped reinforce her learning and build confidence.
Clinical internships played a key role in her transformation. “That’s when I really felt like I had what it takes to be a great sonographer,” she reflects. Through hands-on experience, she learned hospital protocols, patient communication, reporting procedures, and how to apply her classroom training in a clinical setting.
Success After Graduation
After graduating, Casey earned her ARDMS credentials in both OBGYN and RVT, with plans to add an abdomen registry as well. She now works full-time as a Neurovascular Technician at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, applying her skills and continuing to learn every day.
“I’m excited to grow as a sonographer and take on new challenges,” she says. For Casey, what started as a change in direction has turned into a deeply rewarding career.
