Turn your interest in science and healthcare into a rewarding career path. Nuclear medicine technologists combine advanced medical technology with patient care, using specialized imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to help diagnose and treat disease.
The Associate of Applied Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology program at AIMS Education is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in this specialized healthcare field. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and clinical experience, students develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue a career in nuclear medicine.
The Nuclear Medicine Technology associate degree program is taught using a hybrid learning environment. Online and in-person instruction is utilized throughout the program. Lectures may be offered on campus or remotely via a Learning Management System (LMS). Most laboratory classes and practical training will be held in an on-campus lab or at a clinical site.
Online classes will be taught synchronously. Synchronous instruction is real-time instruction that requires students to attend classes at scheduled times.
The Nuclear Medicine Technology program provides career-focused training in nuclear medicine imaging, radiation safety, patient care, and advanced imaging technologies such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT. The hybrid learning format combines live online classes with in-person laboratory training, offering students a blend of flexibility and practical experience.
Students also complete 1,250 hours of supervised clinical training at affiliated healthcare facilities throughout New Jersey. These clinical experiences provide opportunities to apply classroom knowledge, develop technical skills, and gain experience working with patients and healthcare professionals.
