Continuing CAAHEP Accreditation for DMS

March 21, 2022

We are proud to announce that on March 18, 2022, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at AIMS Education was awarded continuing accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). CAAHEP, the largest programmatic accreditor in the health sciences field, awarded AIMS a 10-year grant of accreditation for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in the Abdominal-Extended and Obstetrics and Gynecology concentrations.

In order to qualify for continuing accreditation, the DMS program had to undergo an extensive review and meet rigorous standards set by CAAHEP. Achieving programmatic accreditation demonstrates that our institution maintains the highest standards and quality of education. The next comprehensive program evaluation will take place no later than 2032.

The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Neurodiagnostic Technologist programs at AIMS are also programmatically accredited by CAAHEP.

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs is the largest programmatic accreditor of the health sciences professions. In collaboration with its Committees on Accreditation, CAAHEP reviews and accredits over 2100 individual education programs in 32 health science occupations. CAAHEP accredited programs are assessed on an ongoing basis to assure that they meet the Standards and Guidelines of each profession.

CAAHEP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CAAHEP is also member of the Association of Specialized & Professional Accreditors (ASPA).
