Background and Experience at AIMS

I am a 36 year old mother of three children. Before enrolling at AIMS, I worked as a senior corrections officer. I chose a career in healthcare because I wanted to challenge myself and I wanted to accomplish something different in my life. I chose medical billing and coding because I have excellent customer service and computers skills.

I loved my overall experience at AIMS. I learned a tremendous amount in such a short period. I also learned things in class that I would not understand from the aspect of being a patient. I cannot pinpoint only one positive thing because nothing at AIMS was negative during my experience.

During my internship, I learned how to read claims, process claims, and how to credential physicians and pharmacists.

Success after Graduation

Since graduating from AIMS, I passed the NHA exam and earned my CBCS certification. I was hired a week later at NJ Plastic Surgery, LLC at Overlook Hospital in Summit. In the future, I plan to become a supervisor in the medical billing and coding field and maybe start my own billing company.
