Background and Experience at AIMS
I always knew I wanted to do something in the healthcare field. I was not sure what that would be but there is nothing I love more than helping people. I picked ultrasound because it is in my opinion the most personable modality. You get to make your patients feel comfortable and safe, and talk them through the whole process. It is nice to be that comfort for them. Ultrasound is a very tech dependent modality and there is a feeling of satisfaction being able to give the doctor the explanations for these patients' pain and hopefully give them a second chance at life.
From meeting some of my best friends to having the best professors with so much knowledge, my time at AIMS has been nothing short of amazing. A special thank you to my professor, Sheetal, for always pushing us to be our best and never settling for anything less. Without AIMS I would not have been as ready to go out into the real world so confidently. Not only did I feel confident in my knowledge that was taught to me but my scanning skills too.
Success after Graduation
Because of AIMS, and their placements to the best imaging centers and hospitals, I received some of the best training. With the help of mentors and classmates, I passed the ARDMS registry exam for the abdomen specialty. This resulted in my clinical internship site, Robert Wood Johnson, offering me a position as a diagnostic medical sonographer. I am so grateful for all the support and help along the way. I am excited to start my career and see what the future holds.
